I started my own business (fairly specialist)... started up an adwords account.
I put in a few keywords...
Now if I google the service I offer in Belfast using one of my keywords, I get my 6 local competitors ..but I dont appear anywhere..
after listing local suppliers it defaults to national suppliers.__________________

Go into the stats that are available on adwords and see what sort of hits you are getting - you might be on page 13 or whatever. Adwords do take time to get your head around , its not as simples as it seems
Up your bid amounts - warning, google adwords can get expensive , get someone to optimise your site, may seem expensive but in the long term may work cheaper

If they are quite specific and not used much elsewhere in the english language, then google should find your website just from these words alone... Just plaster your website (on the index page) with loads of similar phrases and you will be found...
Such as "If your looking for Pheasant Plucker services in sometown, or need you pheasant plucking in time for xmas or just need to know the best way to pluck a pheasant, then look no further, phesant pluckers in the south east offer a free initial quotation, outlining our plucking skills and offering a free plucking service for old birds.....
you get the idea.
Don't hide text, this is naughty. Displaying it as above is okay, apparently.
I assume you're using the £55 free trial on Adwords, use it then give it up unless your business is dependant on appearing on the RHS. TBH I don't even look at info there...
just my opinion, being a small business and currently using adwords..."B.A." Baracus: "Talk to me, talk sense so I can talk back. Not all this jibberjabber like breaking the peace and all that."

I used to use Adword Analyzer, it's a nifty wee tool. Do a web search for SEO as well. If you want to stay on top of Google, you need to know which words, in your field, are being searched for and ensure your site is optimised for them.
Google's bots will quickly spot hidden words and repeat phrases on your site, you have to be clever about what you do. Creating a site and leaving it to do its stuff is a thing of the past (unless you create auto-updating farms with back links to your site, Google loves back links (at the moment), but that takes time and money).
Unless you have a massive budget, I wouldn't use Adwords unless you are incredibly niche (which you aren't) and Adword Analyzer draws a blank with your chosen keywords.
There are algorithms out there to repeatedly click through Google pay per click sites, they could very, very, quickly put you out of business...Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's
