Its a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand....

Jeep owners tend to fall into the same trap as LandRover owners, they have one therefore they are the snizz. (ie, their favorate quote above, bit like the all Lame Rovers have 'The Best 4x4xfar' stickers on them.... yawn)

    !
Thats my issue, Take any 4x4 and properly modify it and it will be cool.

Very few are epic of the box.

I'll stand up and say a Defender 90 is one of the best offroaders out of the showroom, a bit like a Jeep Rubicon, mostly cos they come with decent tyres, but they are one trick ponys, I chose my Surf cos it can tow, cover vast miles in comfort, looks nice, not overly expensive and in my expericance is far more reliable than any LR or Jeep.

When was the last time you saw a Pink Hilux parked outside a hairdressers? Thats the Jeeps down fall. (and a drive train made of cheese...)

Volkswagen's cute little drop-top Beetle is so gay it wants you to leave Britney alone!

                  Excellent.

                    I own both
The best all rounder is the surf. Take the jeep over 50 mph on the motorway and it's so friggin vauge with it's steering I sometimes wonder where it's going lol. Off road it's great fun but it still got stuck following Yoshi and Alan's zuk at Drumclog lol
Anyways, I believe the 2.4 was available upto 2006. Have a look for the vehicle id plate next to the front seats where the carpets unfasten Mine has got plates either side. HTH

                    Regards

I can't believe you're so wound up about that. Wranglers are famous for being gay - that's all. I never said they were rubbish (I think I said they were good) or that there was anything wrong with them being gay, but they are gay.

Apparently, Minis are also very gay. I own a Mini but I'm not gay. I can handle that.

                        Standard Wranglers are ghey.

I have a CB fitted and floor mats, thus exempting mine.

Ah see, you didn't mention that, thats different.

Don't the mats get in the way of you peddling?

                            Don't start!

It's broken at the moment! (Gearchange cable melted on the exhaust)

Only vehicle I have that goes on forever is the Surf.

Where these sweeping generalisms came from or who perpetuated them is a complete mistery to me. I questioned why they are thought of as gay and so far nobody has proven that they are, or, what makes them gay?? Are people who drive or have driven them gay??

Personally speaking i still don't see it, and in any case, if you don't care, it doesn't matter. If you love your motor you really don't care what anyone thinks.

All i would say is this.....If someone has the cojones to say to my face that the car i'm driving is gay, and therefore that makes me gay, i sincerely hope you're willing to eat your dinner through a straw for the foreseeable future, and mind where you drop the soap.

I loved my old mini and my old Wrangler Jeep, and I love my Surf.
                              Now it's time to play!
