  • What's the most you've put in your fuel tank?

Im really bored, sat in my garage after getting home from filling my 3rd Gen Surf right up to the brim with Diesel, and wondered what's the most any of you have ever put in your fuel tank in one go? Money wise, and quantity if you can remember!

I put 62.37 litres of diesel in just now, and it cost me £86.01.

I put £110 in a rangerover once.. And it only got me about 250 miles I think lol!

    Cheers,

Not true. But for the sake of a big biker debate, let's just say it is and move on?
        No offence mate.

How goes it Peter, it would break my heart putting 90 litres in the tank, I feel faint putting a tenner in.
If its not broke don't fix it.

I have found I usually use around £40.00 worth of diesel a week using my truck for work so this would be the normal amount I would pay to keep it topped up, I like to keep all my vehicles topped up so I can do a long journey without having to find a filling station first, however having done just that in the soarer last week it took just over £80.00 to top it back up with 97 ron petrol, that hurt a bit!

Only if it overflows on the next roundabout.
Always brim filled, never left a diesel spill. Rode motorcycles up until 2005 when the back started to hurt even on 10 mile rides.

Don't forget about killer A pillars, that one went very quiet quickly.

                          Brim full

On the subject of brim fullers killing motorcyclists, what about the bikes with an oil drip feed on to the chain, that oil has to go somewhere, could this be the cause of some of the oil on the roads, could some accidents be caused by this dripped oil???
Cant all be the fault of brimfullers surely ??

                            diesel tanks bikes and spills

                            buses.... and lorries.
                            cars
                            trucks

remove all the above and the roads will be safe for bikers....

apart from pedestrians, and road furniture, wildlife (like bambi for example)

so essentially, the risk and danger to everyone on todays roads is everything and everyone else...

best advice, keep yer eyes open and your front bumper/handlebars away from the back of the vehicle infront....so you have chance to see whats coming before it arrives..

Mate the automatic Oil feeders (set up correctly) do not drip on to the Road tyre, if they do drip and thats once the bike is started its still a limited amount.

I think someone has all ready stated the subject of Brimmers killing Bikes is one that should not be aired on this forum as there is a high persentage of bikers here as well (myself included).

you will find that heavy haulage and busses leave a lot more diesel on the road compaired with our brimmed SUV's.
                              Always room for more power!!!!
