They should be 12mm, wide base and split top clinch nuts. Any 13mm nuts on a Surf have put there by someone else who couldn't undo originals without rounding them off, or dropping them on the floor.
4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...
japanese stuff as far as i know only have even numbers on bolts and nuts - 8,10,12,14,16 etc.
any 13mm nuts on one of their cars trucks or plant machinery is a replacement.
Nothing to do with 13 being unlucky in Japan however. 4 and 9 are unlucky in Japan, but unlucky 13 is a superstition wholly imported from the West.
From Wiki...
"Sometime levels or rooms with 4 or 9 in them don't exist in hospitals or hotels, and particularly in the maternity section of a hospital, the room number 43 is avoided because it can literally mean "still birth." Therefore, when giving gifts such as sets of plates, they are normally sets of three or five, never four."
Haven't done it YET! I need to use the truck this weekend for a camping / festival. So may be in the coming weeks I'll get around to stripping that stuff out. Will also be fitting WI so not sure whether to do everything at the same time as I don't have an intercooler of any kind right now and concerned about modifications.
I read something about that. Just so the actuator does not "actuate" ? Apparently you can buy a performance ball-bearing too
But do some actuators stick in a semi-open position?

I'm not sure but thats the reason i dumped the lot, (plus when it "disengeged" your just carring all that dead weight around, also when i removed the inlet manifold end of things the manifold was caked up with black oily shite so it pays to remove the manifold also and clean it out.
