I have had a problem with my Surf since I first got it of a missfire/rough running from cold for the first minute or so along with a load of white(ish) smoke.
I started using veg oil and my fuel pump started to pi$$ diesel out everywhere, I changed the top 2 seals and hey presto both problems solved.
I can only assume that the pump has always had a leak, albeit a minor one, allowing air into the pump if the car sat for more than a few hours, so when I started the truck it ran rough until pressure built up.
I thought I'd share this in case someone has a similar problem and knows how to use the search button.
