It'll be blatently obvious on a test drive if its reading in km's or miles. Its really not worth making a fuss.

Site seem to relate mainly to the speedo and not the trip function. When I bought my previous Surf it was already converted to miles and as for clocking many Surfs were imported with a certificate showing their true kilometre mileage converted to from kilometres to miles.
As some one said, it helps when you sell it however after making the biggest mistake of our lives and selling my last Surf, it won't happen again for many years!
