find out how much to buy it off them after the settlement has gone thro, bet you could make a killing on parts...

more and more people are striping down for parts and making a lot of money from it.

the biker propbably new the risks on the road but as with 90% of bike accidents he pushed his luck too far.

my brother came off his 1000 by pushing his luck with corners. we are all guilty of driving fast at some point.

just glad he is ok, last thing that is needed for all drivers cars, bikes etc is another statistic.

Having looked on auto trader which is where they got there prices they had obviously looked at the cheaper ones on there that were petrol. Petrols do seem alot cheaper. Think they also looked at 95's not realising the big difference.

Im in the process now of sending them as many examples as i can find.

Think im going to get it back for nothing. But its bot going to be cheap to put it back on the road.

        New windsreen,
        maybe wing, door,
        A pillar kinked
        Front drive sharft ripped out.
        Possible front diff
Probably replacment of all steering and suspension components to passenger side
        New tyre
        probably new wheel.
        Replacement airbags
And the i expect a partial respray.

Even using second hand parts won be cheap and fair bit of work

On the other hand had a scrap yard offer £360 for it after ive taken my 3 remaining good tyres.

In all seriousness. If i was to decide to put it back on the road have you got a ball park figure to do the work and replace the parts. May get away without the respray. Would need trailering from Eastbourne.

The more i look at it the more i think the kinked A pillar makes it a no go.

Is it really kinked? Or flexed enough to crack the screen, but still the right shape? How does that door close against it?

I can't really do major bodywork stuff, not really set up for it.

The front chassis around the lower wishbone mounts is the more important stuff.

Um, I'm not sure if this is a cheeky question, or breaks any forum rules – but if it's going to the scrappers can I buy 2 of the centre caps off the wheels from you first please.

I plan on keeping the wheels as the tyres only had a few thousand miles on them.

If i had space ide keep the whole thing.

                              Looking for one.

Actually went all the way to bolton from Eastbourne on the train to buy a 3rd gen today. Just got back after 12 hours door to door.

                              Not impressed at all.

Was told it had 93000 miles, high spec ssrx, immaculate inside and out.

When i get there, someone has painted wheels silver with a brush, interior very shaby and dirty with ripped backs of seats, dents on tailgate, actually has 158000 miles and after driving it the expansion tank was full of foam.

So i got on the train and came back again.
