I started underlining your bad grammer, then realised a continuous line didn't really work that well...
My "kid"'s learning phonetics/phonics and I think it's a real step forward. You can learn 75% of our language this way, without using all the "complicated" rules. My boy's 4 and can spell, and read simple words using this method.
I was about 6 when I got to the same level back in the day...

I personally don't see any reason not to learn the complicated rules. That's one of the problems with current society in my opinion.
Everything has to be 'easy' and 'now', and following the path of least resistance. I don't agree with short circuiting the rules of learning so teachers can get an easier tick in the box and meet targets. Never have, never will.

And it's 'grammar' by the way.
Children should also be beaten regularly. Character building dontcha know...
When I were a lad, we had to learn 28 complicated rules before breakfast. And we didn't get any breakfast.
yeah ok i get it, my grammer is crap. but in my defence it was a late post, and i cant seem to type properly, just loose all control when typing and i tap all the wrong keys.
takes me ages to type. my hands work better with a spanner and hammer in them than a keyboard.
but i do know english lit as i got an a level for it, (nothing else i wanted to do exept workshop and i had to pick something)
might try the phonetics/phonics idea. seems a good one.
