Ok, then, I'll answer my own query.

Had the exhaust replaced yesterday by Permazaust, nice chaps at St. Annes, near Blackpool. (actually, the main business is called Hi-Q Quicksave motorist Center.)
They had a looksee, and I had intended having the centre box and back to the tailpipe. they said I might as well have the down pipe for what was left, then it would be all stainless, and guaranteed for life!
Ok, how much with a side exit tail pipe?
�400.00, 'owch!' says I. Get on with it.
They must have been busy, because 3 1/2 hours later, I get a call saying car is ready.
Dogs thouroughly knackered, having trailed them up and down St. Annes sands, to Lytham and back.
So far, all seems to be fine, job well done, and, first thing I tried was having the tailgate fully down, and, guess what, no fumes spiraling in from the rear, especially at junctions, lights, etc. Just have to pay them a visit every 12 months, they give it the once over, and stamp your card.

Hello Swampy. What diameter bore did they do your new exhaust in? How many silencers, flexible joints etc? And I know that this makes me seem really "sad", but, have you taken any photo's of the finished job. I'm asking this ,because i'm in the process of building a system, one section at a time, using mandrel bent sections from Pipe Werx....Cheers....Mick.

Re: Bore Size

The bore of pipe used is 55mm. There is just the one main box, and from what I can see at the moment, two joints, using saddle clamps to secure them.
The first is in a similar place to the original, about 18 inch forward of the box. The second joint again, is in a similar place to the break, just aft of the rear axle. Two or three bends and kinks, as you would imagine. It mainly follows the original lines, but is bent at roughly 45 deg. out and down, to exit behind the r/h offside wheel. (rear of course.)
No piccies as yet, but if you need some it can be done, but probably not 'till Wednesday. I'm on shift 'till then and only get home at 9.00pm, and by then
I'm usually not in the frame of mind to be rolling around under the beast.

Hello Swampy Thanks for the response. 55mm bore is about 2 1/4" The system I'mbuilding is 3" Any information on non standard exhausts is useful, though....Cheers, and thanks again....Mick.

Mick your welcome, and as I managed to get home early today, hopefully, there should be some photo's.
However, a distance shot from under a ramp probably would have done it more justice.
Wow, 3", that should sound a bit throaty!
