  • Road trip

Had a phone call on thursday at 2pm asking if i had got any work yet.It was a local haulage company and they asked if i was willing to do a rush collection and delivery job for them.
I had a hour to get bag packed and sort myself out.
I ended up going to Mostyn Docks in North Wales to collect a 2.5t steel template and back to Falmouth docks.
The trip was doomed i think from the start.
M5 closed between j4 and j3 and diverted round.I never saw 1 diversion sign and ended about 35 detour as i never knew where the hell i was going.
On the way home yesterday i got caught in god knows how long a tailback but i was crawl and stop every few minutes.Once i finally got going i pulled into services for 45min break and when i came out the lorry wouldn't start.
2 hrs later on the road and had to stop again a hour down the road as i needed to buy engine oil and the ###### lorry wouldn't start again.Another sleep over and i managed to get going at 5.30 this morning and back home at midday

i never saw a single surf at all over the 2 days. The Northern lot must of known i was coming and kept out the way.
At least the sleeping compartment in the lorry was comfy anyway

I'm hoping i can get more work or even a full time job with this company as i haven't sorted my own lorry yet.I've been having alot of bad pain recently in my hip again and put buying my own lorry on hold.
I did enjoy it although it took longer than expected but i think i made the right decision putting buying a lorry on hold for a while till i know what my hip/leg is gonna be like
