I have a Midland set up in my off roader.

Unfortunately no-one I go off road with has one, so I just use the P.A. function to abuse people.

                  Good old days

I was heavily in to the CB scene back in the early 1980's (when I was in my late teens/early twenties) when the good old illegal 27Mhz FM rigs were all the rage. Have fond memories of that time, such a rush of a social life. I met my wife over the air waves, she was still married to her ex husband at the time. I use to talk to them for hours on the upper sideband channels, but that's another story. Been stuck with her ever since, so not sure if CB is such a good thing, and once it was killed off by the UK government bringing in AM & licensing rubbish I lost interest in it. I also blame CB for me choosing a career of being a HGV1 truck driver (convoy & smokey and the bandit movies) hence the name night trunker.

I bought the one I had in the car I drove to Mali back to the uk in my hand luggage. It was the best thing we had in the car and made a huge differance being able to talk, shout and pi$$ take with the other two cars with us.

Since it's been in the truck it's not been used....
                    .... Which was nice.

The cheap ones are cheap, but the range is sh1t. (walkie talkie types)
I'm sure you could get a decent enough set up on Ebay for little money.

Just always think when we off roadie that they would be so much more helpful than phones..

I've got a cb/walkie talkie app for the iPhone which is brilliant (and free) but obv not as quick and easy as a dedicated radio.. Will start looking!
