  • After Market Rad heads up

For anyone who has fitted an after market rad.
I have a new rad in the 2nd gen I am selling and the cap sits in the wrong place when tight. Alans surf with after market rad is the same although in a slightly diffirent angle.

This means the lug rubs on the underside of the bonnet and slackens causing the system to lose pressure.

Easy fix remove one lug. Worth checking if you have an after market rad.

Cap does not sit with lugs linned up along the rad like the original did.

Cap rubs on the bonnet when shut, rub makks are visable.

    Lug removed issue fixed

    Good post.

I have the same setup in my 3.0 at the moment and I've just had a quick look. I can't see any rub marks but am now glad I'm dropping the rad when I do the bodylift. (peace of mind)

This should be a sticky, save anyone the heartache of loosing all the coolant and possibility of damage.
