As for air rifles i had an air arms s410 before the 452 & that was a cracking bit of kit & super accurate, wish i'd have kept it.
I get on very well with CCI .22 in my 452 as said very good rifle. I also have a 452 in .17hmr lovely gun. On another note local gunshop selling ex serbian military .243 rounds called Privi Partizan £9.40 for 20 ! Ideal for zeroing.

      I've got one of these:-

Love it-with the bipod it's pellet on pellet at 35 yards, though the reload is a tad awkward the 1st time you do it. It's almost totally silent.

I'm using Logun Penetrators (not a brand thing, just that I rather like them).

Was that the troublesome mk1, the mk2 with the seal problems fixed(same as mine) or the evo?

The Logun is a good air rifle (as said, once it was sorted), had one for a while, but I prefer the Bocock Enigma now and use Dynamics with it, their a tad on the expensive side but I like them.

It's a tip that comes from the AR but after trying on the 452, I now have yet to find any ammunition that won't feed properly. Only takes 2mins to do as well.
I shall give that a go mate, cheers.
The problem was when trying to eject the empty, when pulling back on the bolt it kept slipping off the rim of the shell because it was too tight in the chamber, had to flick them out with a knife all the time.

Can't remember if it was the cci's or the Winchester's that were the worst for jaming.
If its not broke don't fix it.

The Mk2 was pretty much sorted apart from the slightly awkward bolt action (which is why I only let anyone else fire mine if I've worked the bolt myself to save them sticking 2 pellets in the barrel at the same time).

Possibly the best air rifle I've ever used though,is surprisingly a very well set up Air Arms S200 (the one with the CZ barrel) with a multishot conversion on it that belongs to a mate.

In that case, continue the polishing into the chamber itself, not to far though remember the shell case isn't very long and you don't want to be polishing the rifling in the barrel. Not all manufacturers produce their shell casings to the exact same standards so some will be a very slightly larger diameter to others also some react differently to others i.e. expand further after firing, hence they get stuck when trying to pull them back out. Polishing the chamber will help the casing to slide out a bit easier but it may not cure the problem totally, you may find that your particular CZ prefers other manufacturers ammunition.

                        It's a .243 that's spelt wrong!

Chillitt is right although by the sounds of your post, you may not know what that is either so here's a pic to explain things a little better. .243 makes for a good foxing round and in England and Wales small deer as well (I think Scotland allows a .22/250 .222), if it's just target he's after then there probably are better alternatives depending on the range he's wants to shoot at.

.243 very good round, you will find he will have to have a fair few acres to shoot to obtain the licence Ian.
