Hello Rob. Spotted a pic of your truck in an old post in the mods section. From what I could see, it had what looked like Mk3 Astra roof rails. If so, did you fit them? Do they have seperate baseplates to attatch the rail to? Did you use "Rivnuts"?, or bolts from the inside?......Any info would be much appreciated. Pics, especially....Cheers....Mick.

    Hi Mick,

The rails are from a frontera (swb I think). They have big threaded studs fitted so I just drilled the 4 holes per side and used some 3mm steel plate on the inside as big washers.

I've still got a plywood drilling guide I laser cut at work if you end up getting the same rails.

    Cheers,

    Rob.

Will sort some pics out at the weekend as the missus has the truck tonight.

Thanks Rob. I can see them more clearly now. They look great, but they are a little shorter than the ones that i need. Iv'e only seen Astra ones fitted once, and they were on a burgundy 2.4 that Stormy sold.....Does anyone on here own it now?.....Cheers.....Mick.

p.s. Thats the wrong date on the photo, as it would have been dark at that time. It was june 2004 if I remember correctly.

Thanks Vince. I know that 406 rails are the popular choice, and there are some really good write ups on here, on fitting them, and call me weird, but I've set my heart on Astra ones....Cheers....Mick.

I know, I'll be based around Brentwood, but I like to go flying up near Harwich at the weekends.
