To the OP, get new shocks, I had starting problems did some tests and ordered a set of new glowplugs from roughtracks, best £43 I've spent on the surf yet. Quality NGK parts., same for their shocks etc I'm sure.

I've just had to buy a pair of rear shocks, front brake pads, crank pulley, air intake hose & rad cap from roughtrax. I was quite happy with the price to be honest. I'd obviously rather not have to get it all in one go but hey, if it needs it, it needs it & it's certainly worth it!

Thought they were a good deal. Got em in the pound shop. The nice REALLY large white(ish) ones. Not like I'm gonna wear em or owt....
