  • Lifted 3rd gen today, Some Questions.

Did a 50mm body lift today. Have some questions for those that have also done them. Photos to follow soon.

I read on some guides about the transfer lever needing some alterations. Some time removing parts of the body around the lever, or extensions, or bending the lever, or a bracket to lower transfer case.

Has anybody done any of these or does it work ok?

Any suggestions on Auto gear box linkage adjustment?

If you are having trouble selecting 4wd easy way to solve is to file/grind a little to make the hole for the transfer selector a little larger.

Did you read the 'guides' before or after fitting the body lift?

If you're going to fit bigger tyres, don't fill them with air before fitting them to the rims.

Yes i read as much information as i could before and after the lift.

They list lots of solutions if you have a problem. I dont know if i have a problem and 1 such guide says you may not know until actually tested off road.

My question is what have other 3rd gen owners who have done a 50mm body lift found that they needed to do in regards to the tranfer lever.

As you said yourself, you'll only know for sure when you test it , try it, fix it if you have a problem. No point doing extra work.

Every truck is slightly different, so need fiddling with, some don't.

Mine went up with only a Steering column spacer.
Only thing that is noticeable is that when it's in drive the selector shows that's it's neutral.
