Oil Cooler pipe and pipes......

Ok so ordered me oil cooler and spigot thingys and now need some pipe.
Done a search and found nothing......
Where can i get and what sort do i need ?

Also which is the feed from the gearbox ?
Yes i searched and found Apaches nearside offside thread but still didn't understand the answer as they all started talking port starboard bolux.....

merlin motorsport or car builder solutions will have all you need to connect a cooler. thats where i got all my bits.

doesn't matter which way the pipes are connected - use the simplest route from the original lines - oil goes in one end and out the other end a bit cooler and returns to the tranny.

just cut your original metal lines where it suits and connect the cooler with some rubber oil hose.

Had a good surf online but came to this one made in england "Brand New Oil Cooler 235mm 16 Row 1/2" BSP fittings" on ebay item no.300525137055.
Didn't want to chance breakers yard so brought new.
Ordered some 1/2"bsp to 10mm spigot adaptors from another ebay place

So thats drivers side is the feed to the rad.... must write that down as bound to forget and then not have pc access when needed......

been surfing again and no one seems to state that the pipe they sell will be ok for oil cooler feed and return ????

Plenty harp on about how pretty blue looks and how thiers can take unleaded fuel, but none specifically mention oil feed pipes unless its a part to fit a certain car model that has one already fitted......

Does it need to be high temp ? does it need to be high pressure ?

Some one please just point me in the right direction so i don't go and buy some lame fuel hose cus the guy in the shop says its ok, but then it bursts after 10 minutes.....

Hoses should be available at any motor factor. .

Its not yet compulsory to buy everything on the internet. You are allowed to go out. Go to your local motor factors, tell them what you want, they will help you, and if you get lucky the hose they sell you will have some comforting data printed on it like pressure / temperature ratings

he would be selling me the right stuff.

I recently piped up the autobox on my Wrangler, I had a toolmaker make me some 10mm nipples, then from the box to the rad and back (about 3 metres) I run in rubber hose.
The hose is rubber with a mesh outer, It is secured with jubilee clips so I doubt the pressure is very high.
What I'm trying to say is... I didn't have a clue so I just bought some hose that looked alright. And it's been fine. No problems.

If it helps, Haydn, who make transmission coolers, also sell hose for transmission coolers rated at 500psi. ( 33 bar) ATF temps ideally should be around 80degC so I suppose double that plus some would be about right for a temp rating.

I was looking at this pipe a while back & i asked if it was ok to use on a transmission cooler & they said it would be fine.

It makes no difference which way 'round the hoses go.
A cooler is basically just a tube with cooling fins attached.
