  • RIP Tom (Toms farm)

As of 4th March Tom (Toms farm, Rhayada) passed away, apparently due to stress from the prison sentance. Can anyone confirm this?

If this is the case it will be sad times for offroading enthusiasts.

RIP Tom, you gave us some great days. Our thoughts are with your family.

A quick google sorted that question.
Sounds like he was "elf n safe teed" out of business. Gone are the days when an individual, can make their own decisions...do we leave that to the fcking H&S Nazis.

If Tom has died, that's terrible news and my thoughts go out to his family.

But, I find it a bit ironic that, a week or so after Yoshie has posted about a death at a well organised event, people are upset about the place getting shut down and Tom getting sent to jail four years after he was told that it was unsafe and he needed to stop. I'm all for personal responsibility, but they guy was taking money for people to use something that was dangerous. By all accounts, it had a bit of a reputation and people had died there before, so let's not lose any sleep over the site.

There was a member here telling me some years ago that he'd been there, and the place was total anarchy. He told me that there was people walking around, and trucks flying around at whatever speed they chose mixed in.

I never went so don't know first hand, but the person that told me isn't prone to exageration.

I'm with Adam on this ...

He was told to sort things out and he didn't - he went to jail for failing to comply with a previous order NOT for running a dangerous 4x4 site. While I'm one of the first to complain about inappropriate sentencing, both too lenient and too harsh, ignoring a court order is plain STUPID and will usually result in a custodial sentence cos you're ignoring the courts authority !

                    Condolences to Tom's family

I've heard about his demise mentioned locally but nobody seemed to know for sure, as in whether "toms farm" was now "dead" or Tom himself was.

                      Sad situation either way.

In spite of Tom's various mis-deeds (see here) it's sad to hear of anyone dying.

                        My condolences to his family.
