I have ummed and arrred about the body lift but thought go with it and can always remove it if desired.
Each to their own but dodging big holes in the road at speed with a body lift is no fun...and overlanding is all about crap roads.

Happy to meet up as you must be not far from me to compare notes/trucks.
    .... Which was nice.

yer thatll be cool. Im in Eastbourne.

My truck is currently standard as just got it. I suppose the main reason for body lift is i want to stick on some bigger tyres and dont like the truck as standard to look at. Compared to how my 2nd gen looked it looks like a girls truck.

The mods will be done slowly over the year or years, as i want to do them all myself. Really get to know my truck.

But as i said for noww will be a lift and some big tyres, Snorkel.

STD size tyres easy to find in the middle of nowhere......big tyres=crap crusing speed..

Big tyres should give a better cruisng speed but slower acceleration.

My objective of getting bigger tyres was to achieve better ground clearance. For now anyway. I expect before the big off will get a complete set of new tyres. I expect ide take 2 spares. All on steel rims. But as you say, Should chose a size readily available.

Meeting up sound good. Be good to see your truck.

Doh!....yep get what your saying....still don't think you will need lots of ground clearance. Weight is the biggest prob. The last thing you will do when away is to tackle some big difficult section for fear of breaking some thing...far better to take a slightly longer easier route and look after the truck. Keeping things simple is the key in my book, but hey, being different it what lifes all about.

I see your point. But will go for it for now. Only cost will be the steering spacer as friend has made up the blocks and got the bolts for nothing. And as i said its an easy mod so can remove if desired.

Had a look at the snorkels. They look ok. Have to see what you think of it.
