          Yes, sad news indeed.

It's easy to forget the potential dangers within the sport, be it traversing a river in spate (Strata Florida accident a few years back) or sad incidents like this.

Use your heads folks, if something 'feels' wrong, think a bit longer, and back off if necessary.

Jess details are on SMC, he has been to loads of events a fairly experienced off road driver. It has sent a real bolt through the scene up here.

Please all: do not organise events unless you are a fully registered MSA recognised club, thankfully Tay like SMC are.

To the 4 other HLS members who posted, thank you.

A truly sad event. I don't know the particulars of this incident, but I'd like to point out another thing.
We sometimes do things whilst offroading in spite of our better judgement. I have. Most of the time nothing happens. But being a macho sport we tend not to express our doubts in fear of being ridiculed.
I for one, and unfortunately it's taken an event like this, will not just follow the pack in future and attempt to do things against my better judgement. Others of us who have a bit more experience, including myself from now on should not encourage others to do so.
I did not know this lad, but no doubt have been at the same place at the same time as him. So young, what a tradgedy.

It's very sad - our thoughts go out to his friends and family too.

I can't imagine what the people who were there felt like, it must have been awful.

we all take it for granted that nothing will happen while out playing.
Our thoughts with this lads family at this time.

They have just released his full name and he is well known to many of us in SMC. This lad has ran in the cheviot winch challenge and his normal drive is a fully off road prepared, full cage, Whitbread buggy.

No details so he may have been in something else on Sunday.

                        Please guys take care.

Very sad news to hear of someone dying in an off-roading accident, just doing what we all love to do. A timely reminder to be careful.

My condolences to all of his family and friends.

Terrible news, my thoughts go to his familey and friends, we see someone die on the mountains here in NWales nearly every week in every season, for the most part on foot and they are mostly very experienced people; but mother nature is a master.

                              Be careful out there folks.

We can't put health and safety signs on everything, nor should we.
OFF ROADING IS NOT A FUN FAIR--TAKE CARE.
This should be all we need to know, but yes we all "push it" at times.

I do not believe we should live our lives in fear, but we can live them more sensibly than we do; even when taking risks.

Again, my thoughts go out to his familey and friends.
