Some time last year I busted the blades of my cooling fan by forgetting a socket wrench on my crankshaft nut after refitting the injector pump.
I fitted an electric cooling fan at the time and it seems to have worked fine, but recently after a couple of fast 20mile runs at night I find my engine is very noisy on tickover (big end sounds) short runs it is fine and oil pressure is as good as you ever get on a Surf.
So I am thinking this fan is not working well the engine temp is always in the middle so the engine does not seem to be overheating.
The next day all is fine no hints of knocking, oil pressure about low normal dropping on tickover but no knock. This about as good as it ever was.
Has anyone out there got a plastic fan they want to sell. I dont need the metal boss just the fan.
