  • Bit of an odd noise

Well i`ve had the new one almost a week now and i`m impressed, seems quicker on its feet than the second gen and does 120 miles to £30 about town as opposed to 120 km in the 2nd gen. Its quiet inside the cab but when i go collect someone`s milk money and leave it running there`s a weird noise, comes from in the region of the top end, its not a consistent noise it reminds me of the noise the bike used to make when the camchain was too loose and was slapping the sides I`ll try making a recording of it but i doubt that`ll be of much use its not that loud and the general engine noise will prob drown it out, other than that the only thing is the lack of heater plug light coincidentally the other 3rd gen never had one either but it starts fine so i`m thinking thats just the bulb

mine made a tinking slaping sound like metal on metal
it only did it on tick over and at some piont it would do it a high revs but only every now and again
but every time i walked away from the surf leaving it on tickover it had that sound
i found it to be the fan shroud it jusy made the silly noise that sound nothing like you think it would

i could have swore that it was coming from the engine its self
but it was the fan shroud
am not die lex sick its you that cant read mate

It would only be the shims mate! The adjustment is by way of them and is more of a PIA then the "nut and bolt" methods of adjustment!!
Nothing at all to worry about, just a simple service procedure!!
