Have a look at a phenomenon called 'friction'.

I attempted to remove my Surf sticker with a caramel wheel, ended up with a respray as I also managed to remove the laquer finish.
        You decide which is best

thats why i said use the hot air gun carefully, when a car or van is "wrapped" the vinyl that is contoured into a recess or gulley has to have a secondary heat to get it to stay in there, most vinyl manufacturers recomend 90 degrees C ! so believe me the paint can take it, probably not any plastic trim though lol. just use them with care & dotn allow window lickers to help !

urban off roading on the back with a silly stripe
fek knows how you get an urban off roader souded fekin gay to me
surf down the doors a porn tash and quiff something had to go

have you got a variable speed drill with RPM settings??
I dont know, it seemed slow enough to me.

I have in the past used a hot air gun to take the stickers off another Surf. This went very well as the whole sticker came off in about 4 to 5 pieces.
The other I'm referring to here, came off in 10mm pieces, so was doing my head in.
After I burnt through the lacquer I left the rest for the body shop to do, they were cursing me as they had the same issue.

Now that's just silly lol, what i meant was if your drill had 4-5 speed settings which one did you have it on or was it a 2 speed drill, that's why i was asking so i could get an idea of what speed your drill was set at to cause that damage, mainly to make sure i don't do the same lol

Less to do with the speed and more to do with my heavy hand and the amount of time I left the wheel sit in one place whilst it was spinning.

BTW, the drill was a two speed Makita cordless

How on earth did you manage that.
I used a caramel wheel over the course of a nightshift, in semi darkness, and didn't leave a mark.
                              Gone from 4x4 to 1x2

I've got a feeling the 2 speed drill wasn't slow enough.
