Rust Cleaning

I have used this method with washing soda on an old motorbike fuel tank which was rusty on the inside. It took about a week to remove the rust but it worked very well.
No rust deposits in my carbs for the last 2 years!

it works but its awfy messy, sandblasting or bead blasting is much better,small units are pretty cheap and it only takes minutes to get a good finish instead of hours the electrickery way.
i used mine a lot when i was restoring vintage bikes, you get your money back by not having to pay every time you have parts to clean up.

...that the electrolysis rust removal method works a treat. ###### good way of removing rust whilst leaving the good metal untouched. Bog standard soda crystals or washing soda are all that's needed for the solution, (as long as they have a decent concentration of sodium carbonate, they're fine). Aha, That's a system for attaching to the vehicle, hmmm
I was thinking more for cleaning rusted bracket etc, in a bowl in the garage or garden.
