  • Landcruiser Colarado

Does anybody know much about the landcruiser colorado. I have been looking to try and replace my Surf like for like , within reason but am having trouble sourcing a decent one. Spoke to a couple of importers and they are all saying that a lot of the eastern european traders are buying at the auctions in Japan and because the cost of the shipping and the associated taxes etc is cheaper , they can afford to offer more at the auctions. So for this reason i have started to look at the landcruisers but would really like to know a bit more about them. Have any of you got info you could share with me and maybe point me towards what i should be looking for. I have seen a 1998 Colarado 3.0ltr TD GX - Dsl Sw whatever that means ,its got 80.000 miles on the clock and is going for £4500 ono ,any thoughts ?

    Thanks

    Dsl - diesel
    Sw - short wheelbase

Looked at the Colorado before I bought the 3rd gen. It seems they're very alike, from what I can remember they have the same engine and chassis as the 3rd gen.

Thanks for the info , i was hoping somebody would say that as i really do want to stick to a 3rd Gen surf because of the reliability , and if engine wise they are the same then shouldnt have too much of a problem. Is the colorado also an import ?

I think Colorado was UK and the Prado was the import, anyway some useful info here.

Yes , just looked and the Colorado was the uk version of the prado. It also said it was the replacement for the 4runner ?

          Thanks for that Scorpion

I was looking at them when I sold my GT-Four.

Lots of high miler diesels around. The 3.4L V6's look like good value if you're not doing many miles (thirsty) and you seem to get a lot of truck for your money. Diesels, well, 3rd gens seem better value age for age, but you get more kit on the Colorado - lockers etc - which you dont get on the Prado.

Nice truck. I'd have one happliy, just I found a bargain of a 3rd gen before I found a bargain of a Colorado

Thanks chaps, thats made it a lot easier for me now. As i said , i would much rather have the surf but just cannot find one in as good condition as the one i had so the colorado maybe an alternative for me

              Thanks again
