Cellulose thinners works a treat at removing the glue.

One of the local Surfers here swears by boiling water.
"Pete the tart" is him and he rekons it is the quickest way.
Just pour on the boiling water
Whip the sticker off
Rub down the glue with petrol
Give it an nice little polish
Done!!!!
