Not true. It's proven that verbal bullying and causing offence and annoyance can lead to stress that can have very serious health implications.

          Ahem...

As an adjunct to this, the feeling at Sky Sports (according to a mate who knows a few senior bods there) is that Gray in particular may have been stitched up on the orders of someone high on the News Int'l totem pole as punishment for suing the company over alleged phone-hacking.

It appears that neither he nor Bigfoot realised that their pre-broadcast run-throughs and chit-chats were picked up by channels in the 90 countries who take Sky's EPL feeds, and that any one of them could have broadcast their ramblings at any time.

Since they're said to have come out with far worse than this in the past, it does seem like something of an unfortunate coincidence that it should be this of all weekends that they get caught wiping their metaphorical dicks on the curtains.

An offensive remark is a mile from sustained verbal bullying.
You have taken what I posted outwith the original context bro.

                  My thoughts exactly!

Refs / officials come in for a hell of a lot of stick (generally from the losing team's fans) all of the time. If she (or those who were offended on behalf of her, as is always the case) are of the 'princess' persuasion, they should perhaps not be involved.

My "news"paper says that a football pundit is an unreconstructed sexist lout. I have scoured it for information about the religion of the Pope and the toilet habits of bears, but to no avail...

I'm pretty sure she is used to the stick she gets from fans and players, and she hasn't actually complained about the lack of professional conduct displayed by both of these guys. Andy Gray was paid 1.7m a year for stating the ####ing obvious, glad to see the back of him.

I don't fully understand your comment about "or those who were offended on behalf of her, as is always the case"

According to some local comments, the lady official concerned has been nicknamed "Just For Men". Use once and the Gray is gone!!

Alluding to how quick some people are to 'take offence' on behalf of others when they aren't even involved.

For example, the people in Birmingham City Council who were offended enough (or terrified OF offending) by Christmas decorations in the city, on behalf of other, non-christian religions, to mandate that decorations would not be put up a few years back.

Midlands Today (our local news) found Muslims, Sikhs etc etc to interview on the streets of Birmingham, and NONE of them were bothered by the fact that we celebrate Christmas, and most actually enjoyed the decorations.

Perhaps that's an extreme example, but its not an isolated one.
