    Thanks for the thread link wishbone.

    Regarding the engine oil cooler, I've been thinking about the thermostat you would use to prevent the oil temperature dropping too much. A water thermostat restricts flow to inhibit cooling of the engine. Obviously an engine oil thermostat cannot do this as restricting oil flow would damage the engine. How do they work?
    Is this the thermostat? It's a replacement for the plate between the oil filter and the oil filter housing?

      the stat just stops oil flowing to the cooler, it dosn't effect oil flow round the engine.
