    Hello All -

My name is Steve, I love my Surf, and I'm addicted to offroading!! I've been lurking around here for about a year now, I joined when I started preparing to get a my surf which I purchased in March '10.

I've always loved the power of big chevy and dodges growing up on the farm but when it came to pickin a truck I needed an SUV for work and I wanted something that could have fun off road but be a daily driver and not break the bank on fuel. After seeing a couple of surfs on some offroad trips I started doing research and watchign vids online. I was sold on the surf!! My other options were a 2000-2004 pathfinder or 4runner, but here in Canada those have 200,000km+, are rusted, and came with the V6 petrol. We are LHD here but having previously owned a Skyline I had no worries about RHD or the joys of dealing with parts and the such.

My truck is stock except for removing the rear bumper, half the front, the side steps, doing the exhaust, adding a CB, removing rear ARB, OBA, and getting recovery gear. In the next couple months I plan to do LC springs, shocks, BJ spacers, BL, and then fit 33" MTs, lock the rear, and do a few other lil goodies to help out on the trail.

Enough talking, here's some pics and vids:

    This was from Sunday:

You've got a little bit more "off-road" to play with than the rest of us too...! Great pics - thanks for sharing.

Thank you everyone for the very warm welcome!! This forum is great with such a wealth of knowledge, this is the first place I go for anything surf. I've learned alot from all of you so thank you!

I apologize for the 3 broken pictures, I've gone in and fixed them so you can enjoy them as well . Also if anyone didn't see elsewhere, the WHORE group name stands for Winnipeg Heights Off Road Enthusiasts. Winnipeg Heights is a large local auto community forum.

I live just outside Winnipeg, Manitoba down in the bottom middle:

Winnipeg is actually the center of Canada and as you can see from the map Manitoba is known for it's many lakes. The scenery is amazing and I know we're lucky to have all these areas available. Most places we go are about 45-60min from the city limits, there are also plenty of options past that as well.

We were ripping it down the beach and playing in the water, wasn't actually too dirty at that point lol. It's actually very shallow quite far out, if you're careful you can follow some sand bars a good distance. That is Lake Manitoba, the second largest late to the left of Lake Winnipeg.

I actually had most the pieces to get this done in the fall but when the snow fell I figured there was no point. I'll do it in the spring before the ice melts, I plan to make one of the pvc type.

Hey Ian, congrats on the Surf!!! It's too bad you're getting it end of Feb and won't make the mega run to Seddons. Just checked and I still have you on FB so I've added you to our WHORE FB group, that way you can see whats what. If you aren't on WORE go jump on there too! Cya around bud.

I joked I was off back to Japan to get some parts and work done, or at least Vancouver if I didn't make it! lol Thankfully I have diff breather lines ran up nice and high.

Here are pics from our trip to Gull Lake yesterday:

Here you can see how deep some of the snow got, I didn't even bother with this, he's got 35"s and a decent lift lol:

I'm the only Toyota in my group of Jeep buddies as you can see, once in awhile we get somebody else out but around here Jeeps are the majority on most runs. I can keep up though, just need the odd pull

Again thank you all for the welcomes! I'll continue to learn from you all and share my pics/vids!!
