You know the split rubber O-ring doobrie for thermostats? What you need is one of those with an ID of 50mm. Heat proof, good seal. I have an idea forming, but I need to cut a thread on the outside of 50mm tube and have never attempted that on my lathe.

I found that 51mm lamps are about a gnats too small to fit my 6cell maglight.
But with some slight packing they would.......
Probly wouldn't last long but be blinkin bright.......
Never turned threads on any large dia stuff on a lathe before.
