Oh I thought we had sold it all and you shared a second hand landrover with the RAF ? (only kidding) its just that Withams and the DSA seem to be flogging everything but the crown jewels at the moment !

tried ringing you on the bat phone but you obviously ignored it as a sales call or you are still languishing at her Majesty's pleasure (still on duty) or beating up poor squaddie drivers

The in-theatre traxcked armour is completely misemployed anyway, especially the theatre AI Coy. "Warrior 2" will never see the light of day. BGTI and the Bowman outfitting/BCIP 5.4 uplift is far too much money spent to transition to something that really isn't any more capable.

Um actualy it isn't mate think after all the grief with it the head is cracked now so got to do a coolant test on for exhaust gasses. I just hope the liquid stays blue and doesn't turn yellow if its blue I gota find the blockage causing the expansion bottle to keep overfilling but I'll be happy with that if it's head think I'll cut my losses and get something newer

                Uh-oh, doesn't sound good.

Have you given the cooling system a good burping?

yes mate i have burped it, what happend was i got the pully etc from your good self got it all back together got it running and took it for a drive out, got just about back to driffield and then engine cut out on me what i didnt realise was the temp was past the red came to a stop and i had steam but this was well under pressure and sounded like an old kettle whistleing away big time.
well got it back to my mates to find i didnt tighten the coolant house behind the fan up tight enough grrrrrr you know the 2 hoses with metal pipes infront of the cam cover well did that up and refilled coolant with boiling water burped the system and it was fine took it to work no probs then i had the loss of drive issue at which point my patience wore thin and need a new door was the best idea kicking the door to find i knocked the transfer lever in to neutral.
anyways went back to my mates it overheated again no coolant, it went in to the expansion bottle and was leaking out, thing is none of the pipes are pressurised, its not spouting out the t stat housing where the cap is. so emptied the expansion bottle to full refilled the system and drove it home less than a mile away. got home checked it and the bottle is full again and pumping the excess out. what i have found is it only fills the expansion bottle when its been driven, but its stays where it should on tickover.
so ive checked carpets front and back, heater matrix front is fine rear heater is cold and always has been for the 6years ive had it, it has a new rad cap on, the rad doesnt seem to be leaking and is dry even after driving, so that leaves t stat, cracked head im gone get a coolant tester from workshops tomoz and test coolant for exhaust gasses im hoping its t stat but my luck is and gut feeling i need a new cylinder head.

The rear heater pipes are blocked then. They're independant of the rest of the cooling system i.e. they don't go via the thermostat.

Have you tried topping up a cold engine and leaving the rad cap off over night to let any air bubbles work their way out?

Does the auxillary fan behind the grille come on at all?

yes the elec fan is on permantly and has been since that cold spell we had, i know the fan sender unit is playing up keeping the elec fan on all the time unless ya pull the relay out which i havent done, yes ive tried topping up the cold engine but havent left the rad cap off, ive never had an issue with the rear matrix since ive had it mate ie never had cooling probs like this with the rear matrix blowing constantly cold.

well looks like the lux is fine, i gave it a coolant compression test no leaks bled the system up again after giving it a good flush and guess what it works spot on, never missed a beat yipee no cracked head and it managed a massive 18miles with no problems well chuffed for now so hope thats the last of my woes with the lux.

when cold starting its very lumpy and there is lots of bluish white smoke out the back, i mean lots that it covers the house lol. but when normal temperature she is fine.
when braking she pulls to the right.
the rear window will go up and down with the switch but only up with the key.
the rear window demist dont work.
who ever has done the wiring inside for the front spot lights should have been shot, as there was bare wires with live feeds not insulated. just soldered.
same goes for the tow bar electrics.

ive sorted the clutch out so its biting point is not 1mm off the floor
ive given it a good service oil air and fuel filter change.
think thats about it for now prob find more things wrong soon.
