  • New zorsts and lift pics

Hi all, thought i'd stick up a coupel of pics of what i've been up to recently

first up was to order a 2" suspension kit from roughtrax, spoke to Tonyn and went for the munroe shocks instead of desert fox..

Tony kindly fitted these for me just before xmas (literally) rears went from a saggy arse to a 2" lift and looks loads better, front have gone up about an inch as winding torsion bars up over time

then, last week i also decided to say good bye to the side steps to give a more visual look of being higher, plus i had something else planned

that saw a trip up to longlife exhausts (a34 north of oxford) to get a new system made up

we decided on a tight to chassis mounted silencer with a side exit pipe (ok i know might clout it if going extreme off road but i like it and like the design)

    so here's some pics

not the best as not really had chance to take much pics untill today when timenator and me took to some local lanes

here's a sneaky of the exhaust

oh yes and i forgot to mention

we decided to fit the pipes equal on both sides

so here's the 'drivers' side shot (ignore my pie eating frame)

and that takes me to today

next up on the list for tomorrow (with Tony)

CV boots need replacing, so does the steering idler arm, then its the dreaded MOT time

    what you think??

Excellent, all you need now is the V8 to attach the pipes to.

Cool, they are going to stink when covered in Salisbury plains mud, then cook gently over the day..

Looks good, and very different to usual.

Don't use them as rock sliders....

        thanks mate

yes vince, its on the list of to do things, i spoke to the guy who made the exhausts and he said, ok, i'll make em big enough to handle it..

one side would cope with the 2.4 diesel, all he said we'd need to do would be change the pipework that routes to them, but the 'silencers' would cope ok

they have 2" dia pipe to them, and are made from 4" dia pipe and are about 2ft long each

i've not seen this style on another truck yet, not saying they are unique, but i love the looks now

thats the only concern mate - catching them

                  no need to apologise mate

we're allowed our own opinions, positive or negative

if we all liked the same things in life it would be a boring place

i like em, i also love em on AC cobra's and other cars too (even tho on an ac they are 4 times the size - lol)

Any particular reason for the Monroe's? Just curious

Seriously, have heard the DF's rust very quickly. I am gonna be looking at mine in the spring so any qualified views out there would be appreciated.

finally raised the front and levelled it all off now, the 2" is complete, got the tracking all sorted and banged on an MR2 steering wheel

also got the spare matching on the back too so all good

next job is remove the dodgy hanging low fog light and fit a flush mounted into the bumper

plus find out whats making all the noise up front :hmm: :hmm:

                            Looks good.

There was a thread in the mods section recently regarding alternative foglights.

They will match that recurring 3rd Gen on fleabay just lovely!

Procomps rusted too, but that wasn't really what what bothered me, the Monroes just feel beefier and more solid, and I had some issues with DF's mounting hardware on trucks that went on Safaris abroad and got worked hard over long periods.

The Monroes feel more like the excellent but expensive TJM shocks than any of the other cheap ones.

And so far not had any issues with any fitted (than I know about. )
