Nice install sir just need a reversing camera in the other vent......

Was pondering the other day with all these posh phones about with
gps, fm radio and audio mp3 players in them, wouldn't it be easier to get a simple amp and a good cradle and use your phone to do all the work ?????
rather than install a sat nav and a cd player, you can probly get a scanner app by now, just have the one phone does all....

True, watching the BBC and Skynews whilst stuck in traffic is novel, I like the Ipad installations into double din sets.
If it can be broken it can be fixed

      Precisely.

I didn't *need* to do it. It would be easier to buy an iPhone with GPS.

I did it for the same reason people climb mountains.

      Because I can

Is there a way to still download map updates?

          BTW
My Garmin has a recall notice on it, due to battery issues.
You sure yours wasn't on the list?

Mine is 8 years old - its no longer supported re. map updates (though I can easily put a USB connector in if I feel the need), and I expect recalls have long since passed it by!

Dont worry Mark. While I was modifying it to fit, I added the 'TrackAstra' feature as you can see. (Its a silver one...)

Just looking at all that eavesdropping gear Andy, I was wondering...what did the president have for breakfast today.
