I wondered about that too - can you see the scrapyard insuring everything not cube-shaped?

A plan been with them for 5 years last year was £500 for 92 reg 2.4 surf Manchester postcode 55 years old named driver no convictions and full no claimes just got renewal and now £930......

tried one or two of the sites mentioned on here and they are all in excess of £1000

Cheapest so far is from moneysupermarket which comes in at £666.65

any other people getting stupid quotes?

YEP they did the same to me, was paying £320 then they said £960 but best they could do was £669 excess £350 !!! shopped around and now £371 best offer so far....still hunting

Had the same as you.....every £1 insured they paid out £1.20 that's there problem not mine so moved company!!

just had renewal quote from lifesure group 01480 402460, £359.00 inc legal protection and personal accident cover, includes named driver as well thought not bad compered to what i,ve seen on here, also called flux, £354. 63p, same cover but includes offroad and greenlaning. £200.00 excess, lifesure excess £350.00

Thats great until you write somebody elses car off after skidding on black ice and don't have the money to pay for it..........

or....... same scenario but you smash into the back of somebody's car causing permanent paralysis to their child. They now require constant care for the rest of their lives. Apart from not being able to live with yourself because you weren't insured, I'm sure you'd far rather that the money for the kid's care comes from the big faceless insurance company than your own pocket.

Insurance is expensive but it is required for a number of very good reasons. If you can't afford, or don't want to pay for insurance, you shouldn't be driving, simple as that.
