Goodyear Navi Ice Tyres

Has anyone heard of these or used them before? The only things I can find on Google are Japanese ads!

There are some for sale here on Ebay that would fit the 3rd gen. I would imagine they're only for winter use and not for general purpose driving?

A friend has some of these, in a smaller size, fitted to a Citroen Berlingo of all things. Apparently they have made it at least good, if not better, then a 4WD on ordinary road tyres. He had no problems getting around the Cotswolds in the recent snow.
I saw them over Xmas and they feel to be a very soft compound with lots of 'bite' to get into packed snow.
