When I hit sheet ice I lowered mine, on the principle that the more tyre in contact the more chance I have of finding some grip. It appeared to work as I didn't continue fishtailing (unlike the land rover who slid to a stop and fixed chains), but then I also walked (slid) the corner looking for the areas where I thought there might be grip. I also used low range so I took it at less than walking speed, with maximum engine breaking.Gone from 4x4 to 1x2

I generally lower mine a couple of psi in snow from 30psi to 28 n haven't had any probs in past years, having said that this year (about 3-4 weeks ago)I had new GG At's fitted on 8" modular's when fitted inflated to 30 psi n didn't lower the pressure n they have coped excellent ......
