Please Have a Listen - Knocking

It is a weird kinda booming noise and a slight viration??I think at least on mine that its the air box vibrating.
Does this sound the same?

Certainly a farily deep knocking sound. Would't be the air box on my truck as it has been removed and replaced with a cone, not sure how long for though as it's NOISEY!

i have the same vehicle but manual, i have a similar noise but not nearly as loud. i only really noticed it after i replaced all of the belts.I was wondering if these engines have a harmonic balancer?It is a weird kinda booming noise and a slight viration??I think at least on mine that its the air box vibrating.

yep they have a harmonic balancer,it doesnt make a knocking noise when it goes though,more of a tink,tink as it moves on the bottom pully hitting anything thats in the way,just grab hold of the pulley and see if it moves about.

Then it screeches a bit, then it tears a hole in the cambelt cover, then it stops driving the water pump, then you overheat, then the head goes.

Well it did to me, anyway. The little bugger.

Getting it looked at on Monday, is running fine but the noise is bugging me.

Having it looked at by a guy that specialises in Land Rovers, he's ###### good with them so hopefully he should be able to diagnose it.
