  • Hello from Canada!

Hi guys, hope you're all doing well! I've committed to buying a '96 Hilux Surf SSR-G 3.0TD auto, and I couldn't be more excited! I've been lurking here for a while now, doing some pre-purchase research and it's a great site! My truck isn't eligible for import to Canada until February, so it will still be a while before I get to drive it, but I thought I'd get started posting on some of these forums.

Wow, by the time this post was approved it was already down on the 3rd page, this place gets some decent traffic! Here's a few pics of my truck, can't wait!

            Greetings & welcome.
A question for you, up there in the real cold. What do you guys use to keep engines warm overnight - are sump heater pads used or block heaters? My son was in Whistler last winter & he said everyone plugs their vehicles into the a/c mains at night.
            Cheers
            Dave

Most common are block heaters or inline coolant heaters, but I've also heard of people using oilpan heaters. The oilpan heaters are magnetic, and can get ripped off by snow so they aren't preferred.

Thanks for the welcome guys, I've got lots of reading to do!
