are 3.0 louder than 2.4

In my experience, the 3.0 is quieter than the 2.4 by a good bit.

The engine on my 3rd Gen is quiet, its the twin exit stainless exhaust that makes plenty of noise

My 3.0 is quieter, but vibrates more at idle than my 2.4 did.

And I'm sure those Subaru engines only sound shit until they've been tuned properly, so all is not lost there.
