    With the surf no chance of that as has 2" suspension lift and 1 1/2 body lift. Also have only got 265/70/16 tyres fitted so plenty of room.

    On my other car there is not sufficient clearance so it would rubb. But if the snow was deep enough to warrant the use of snow stains it would be too deep anyway as not got a lot of ground clearance.

    That's why I got winter tyres fitted to the car and snow chains for the surf.

    In my opinion for everyday driving the winter tyres are far better for driving in snow. ESP as you dont have to take them off when you / if you come across a clear / gritted road.

      If your unsure the snow chain shop will check the wheel clearance for you and advise.
