(metal) Spiked tyres are illegal for use in the UK, except when required. You would have to take them off and put them back on all the time. Your best bet is winter tyres, which grip much better but will wear out more quickly than a normal tyre.
Look for a tyre with lots of siping (cuts in the tread blocks) Winter spec tyres have them.
Most 4x4 A/T's are M+S (mud and snow) so all have them to a degree. But M/T's often don't even though they have M+S moulded on the side.
BFG A/T's are very good in the ice due to this feature, but they are just as good the rest of the year to. Meaning you don't need to bugger around changing tyres.

Just lay the rivets on the road in a couple of lines and drive over them until they all stick - then any you miss can do your neighbours cars too and you'll be mr popular!
