Headlight Bulbs?

Ok i'll rephrase the question i would like to get the heavy duty cable already made up as i can't be bothered making it from scratch although if it has a wiring diagram i could follow it and make my own but i'm being lazy....

Will have a closer look when I can but from what I can see, there is a second relay connected next to the main head light relay. A feed from has been taken off the wire from the stalk to original relay and this is used to switch second relay. +ve taken with 12AWG straight from battery to relay and a feed from relay to each front headlight. 12AWG is pushed into headlight plug and held in place by spades on bulb. All original wiring has been left in place to my knowledge but I have not looked into it that hard.

Hope this helps, should take about 20 mins with the right connectors and tools.

I fitted an upgraded loom from http://www.4crawler.com The difference with good halogen bulbs was amazing. Kit was about £30 I think. Pretty easy to fit if you have basic leccy knowledge.

Technically, it is. But works fine and no chance of wire slipping / shorting as is such a tight fit. 12AWG won't fit the stock plug on back of bulb even with original wiring removed.

I guess you could bin the original plug and crimp / solder spade terminals onto your new wires. I suppose this would leave you with nothing to fill the hole in the rubber waterproofing boot then though!

With regards to the MOT it is usually down to the MOT station's interpretation of the rules. It will change for the aftermarket ones due to what Andy says, and an MOT man will enforce that if he wants to. I was failed once because the man siad my bulb pattern was incorrect due to aftermarket bulbs, even though they were 'E' marked and the right type for the car! It's no use arguing with them as they will always have the last laugh - they can pass ya or fail ya!!

Ring Xenon Max on Dipped





All on beam, night breakers in the spots and std H3 halogens in fogs, latter two also have very chunky wiring. Distance from truck to tarmac of main road is about 75 yards

Thanks for the pics of your new bulbs, they look great!
I've just ordered some of the "Ring Xenon Max" from egay for £12,
So I wont bother fitting the cheaper ones I have, that you said were no good.
