  • I Bloooody Love my Surf!

Just got in from a night of playing in the snow. I took loads of pics (this time on a proper camera) and will upload em shortly.

On way home, going down the back roads, i came across a new Corsa smashed through a hedge and sitting nose down in a very steep ditch. I slowed as i got close, and noticed a little Chinese man sat in the back of the car (no punchline, a real story!) i think he'd just panicked and sat in the back to maybe attract a attn.
I asked him if he would like a tow, and that he was ok, but he didnt understand English very well. i signalled to my truck and made like a towing sign. I didnt know if i would get him out tho cos it was very steep and he was well in!
I hooked up my tow rope and told him just to try to reverse out. The old Yota pulled him straight up n out, i was so proud of my truck. The sweet little Chinese man kept saying "Sankyou, Sankyou" as he was hugging me bless him!

My good deed for the day, i dorve off with a smile on my face, as i'm sure he did!!

as per thread title.... i FRICKING LOVE my Surf!!!

        They're awesome aren't they

I've had mine coming up for Three Years now, it's the longest I've ever kept any car in my life!
Last year I pulled a transit out of a snow drift, up a steep, icy hill. The wheels were spinning constantly but it still did it with no dramas.

          I had my 2nd gen 7 years - longest I've owned a car by about 4 years!

Last winter I rescued a few stuck on ice, but the most spectacular one was towing a loaded Travis Perkins lorry up a gentle icy slope on the building site I pass through on the way to our Science Park. The driver's face was a picture.

Being the centre of the known universe and we all work harder, the average temp down here is always higher than anywhere else.......

Something to do with malvern one side and cleeve hill and the cotswolds the other we get bugger all......
You can have 2foot up on birdlip and the sun shines down here mad init......

Best get out and take the long way home if i want to get any white stuff, or head upto the british camp.....

only a sprinkling of snow in cheltenham, though the untreated roads can be a bit icey after what snow we have had has compacted down, all 5mm of it

A whole 2.5" on our garden now...

The road outside is ###### lethal though. Solid ice under 1/2" of snow. I struggled to walk 10 yards after parking the truck tonight.
