The front one is shaved down as there's no lip for it to catch on and its helped to stay in place by a dab of silicone.
Now to just T-cut the residual marks away from the old mirror.

Your VED is due in a couple of days. That sort of thing is a nuisance just before Xmas.

I did it last year, even painted them blue to blend in but they didn't last, well the cut down one came off after a week or so.

A good idea, but because mine is black the holes are less noticable, so I just make sure they stay clean and rust free.
