  • Why is this such a big deal?

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2...-so-good-gaffe

I thought having a sense of humour was a good thing, we have to have one when listening to any thing that comes out of Downing street.

    Everyone's gone radio rental!

Like that councellor the other week with the 'stone her' thing on twitter.

I'm sure normal people take these things with a pinch of salt. but not the P.C. brigade, and the media. they are the ones that stir it up.

This is why I absolutely hate politicians, all parties, totally out of touch, they should all have to do a year on minimum wage with no access to lavish bank accounts to prop them up, they might then come to understand what its like to work to pay bills and have zero disposable income at the end of the week, a mortgage is pie in the pigging sky to minimum wage earners.

There's a Sunderland tory councillor presently taking his wage of 11 grand from the council while overseas on a 3 month business trip, unavailable but having his cake n eating it, he sees nothing wrong in what he's doing, most of his constituents are either unemployed or minimum wage. IMO hes a £ucking parasite and one of the main reasons the country is in the mess its in, simply greed rather than need, but lets #### over the disabled/jobless/poor. H

Hes a rich Tory, he thinks like a rich Tory. Hes an older David Cameron. They all believe that the working class exist to serve them, to keep them in luxury and only deserve whatever crumbs they care to toss at them and they no clue as to how the masses live, nor do they care.

And come the revolution brother...what a load of shite you talk sometimes alex. You live north of the wall, so your view of "London" and it's political shenanigans are skewed...and I spent enough time with the Scottish media to see that. The short memory your exhibiting, belies the utter disaster that Blair and brown were. Blair and his hideous wide were only interested in lining their own pockets. It's very easy to subscribe to the "class war" b0llix, in fact the SNP as far as I could ever tell, rely on living in a perpeptual version of braveheart to keep the seats. Carry on hating the Tories...but remember, what you feel about those nasty nen from the Tory party, down here we feel exactly the same about labour and it's self serving socialist b0llux that's put us in the worst financial position for generations.

The banks worldwide have put us into the worst financial position for generations, labour, possibly mistakenly, bailed them out, have you been hiding up DC's ar$hole, I've lived in Scotland, London and after "getting on my bike" in 84, practically everywhere else in this country trying to stay employed, my daughter at 21 has known 20 different addresses, all due to the fact the Tories destroyed British industry while on their power trip.

At least in Scotland, whoever is in power, have their country's subjects in mind when making decisions and both Labour and The SNP refrain from deliberately targetting the least well off in society, unlike the Tories who are squarely laying the blame of this crisis on the jobless and Labour policy but who themselves are producing new schemes on a daily basis which will do nothing to create employment but will make the figures look good as they reduce payments to those unfortunates who are out of work, a lot of which will be directly attributed to this new "coalition" Government.

Its always been Tory policy to have mass unemployment to benefit the private sector, this keeps keep wages low but with a constant supply of slaves so those in work feel lucky to have a job and can do nothing to improve pay or conditions. H

You have to ask why did Australia not go into recession?

                      The answer is Government policy.

During the boom our government spent all the money and borrowed more, and that is what they wanted to do during the recession.
I don't support any politiction, because none of them are worthy of my support. I am yet to meet or hear of an honest politiction.
Labour were in the driving seat when it all went up the tubes.

Bl00dy hell!! It don't take long for some people on here to get a weed up their arses and jump on their political soapboxes!!

I agree with you Vince, people need to treat it with a sense of humour and take anything that comes out of Downing St - no matter who has the keys - with a pinch of salt!!!

At the end of the day, we can all rant and rave about it, but it won't change a thing!

                          Cheers, Nick
