  • Tax Book (V5)

Hope i'm posting in the correct section.
My Surf is listed as 'auto' in V5 when it is in fact manual.
Would it be advisable to have this changed, or does it matter? Could I be opening the proverbial can of worms or is it just a small alteration as it would appear to be to the casual observer?
Also having trouble with insurance. When I type in my reg. number online, the details automatically generated are always incorrect and not just in respect of the transmission, some say petrol engine, some say diesel but wrong c.c. and year with practically all permutations in between, bar the correct one.
Has anyone had the same experience?

Regarding the V5, I would get it changed, its very straightforward and free.

if theres a slightest reson for insurence to fek you around if you ever have a bump or anything were you need to claim you will find that the insurance will pick on that piont
so change it in realaty your insurance with be invalid for the reasons that your log book is wrong
if your invalid insurance then your not insured if you get pulled by a jobs worth coppers
and that means your car will be taken away with 160 quid to pay and valid insurerance
you are legal untill so jobs worths picks up on it
am not die lex sick its you that cant read mate

On closer inspection I find the engine size is listed as 2995 cc. on V5.
          My Surf is a 1993 3L manual, I had thought the KZ-TE engine to be 2982 C.C.
I have however been known to be wrong.

Does the VIN number on the V5 match the one on the Surf? Hope there was not a mix up at time of import or any cloning going on...

And does the chassis number on the VIN plate match the one on the chassis rail behind the driver's side front wheel?

              Lexurf II's doesn't!

V5 number matches plate on bulkhead, but I cannot locate
the one on the chassis rail behind the driver's side front wheel, is it on a plate attached to the chassis leg or stamped directly to it, may it be located elsewhere on the vehicle?
Does a 2995 cc hilux surf engine exist?

The number is stamped onto the chassis roughly in-line with the mudflap.
It may be covered in dirt/mud/underseal/paint.
