My Disco was a belter, well except for the wet boot floor - had been replaced in the past & the poor trim fit & quality etc etc.. Parts were cheap, although that was probably a good thing! lol. I sold it because I had too many vehicles/projects at the time and I'd had enough of 4 years of it being like driving a tractor & just about as fast. The Surf promises to be much more comfortable with better acceleration too, although I don't often use that feature due to the outrageous price of fuel.... My old Vectra DI is on eBay now and should be gone by next week. I am not sure if I will stand the shock of going from 50mpg down to 25! Ummm. Oh well, I'm not doing many miles at the mo. I used to use veg oil in the afore mentioned tractor, but that got dear a few years back. I don't like filtered WVO because I studied engineer/chemical reports about 3 years ago and the filtering dosn't get rid of the nasty chems produced in the prior heating /cooking process. Needs that transterifizication thingymibob reaction to cure. Don't want to rot my engines guts out!
Am sorting the back door internals out this weekend and my mate told me (after the deal was struck I might add) that there is a viabration from the drivetrain - he thinks - at above 60 mph. Oh joy. Well that will be the next fixer then. Seems I am starting my Surf life relationship with a spanner in my hand! Other than that, all appears fine. Am looking forward to driving it. Regards, Gary..
Hey Gary no need to go all chemical with WVO, Filter it n straight in the tank, on or mix it ... Hopefully you'll be driving it more often, the Surf that is... so less "Spanners in hand"
