is this a 3rd Gen transferbox

chap on the landcruiser forum has sourced a transfer box for his prado,

i reckon it might be off a 3rd gen?
as has a box of tricks at the back - solenoid?

Thats the actuator motor to engage 4WD.

Looks like the wires have been ripped out of the plugs too!

so you reckon its off a 'turd gen then?

can it be setup (shorted etc) to be always 4wd mode - so the box can be fitted to a full-time 4x4 prado

then there is the question of the centre diff lock, and whether the prado's system can also control that - as the trasnfer lever is used on prado to activate that - not sure if same on a turd gen

looks like its a Surf one, locking it into AWD shouldn't be a problem, you can move the lever that the solonoid moves and the solonoid won't work without power. Not sure how the diff lock will work, it is lever controlled on both trucks.
