  • Rare 3.4TD

I bet it is, I've certainly never heard of one!

    Here.

Funny, it looks like it says V6 on the tailgate.

It's a petrol not diesel. The U.S. is full of them.

Not as economical as a Lexus V8 though.

I know that, and you know that, Vince. Evidently the seller doesn't.

Its certainly rare, its a lovely engine, even if it isn't turbo'ed or diesel..

Personally shame about the colour, looks lifted as well.

        Nice truck.

It's a bit tatty considering it's up for sale.

Have you noticed the screwdriver 'digging' marks around the interior light too?

I like it, it would look better in black. Not a bad looking motor at a reasonable price.
If it can be broken it can be fixed

I hadn't, lol. Looks like they used a hammer drill to get the bulb cover off!

2.7 and 3.4 petrols are very unusual in the UK (note how I didn't use the 'r' word? ) and I've noticed people like insurance co's tend to think they MUST be 3.0TDs. I had that with Flux...

                  "Is it a 3.0 diesel?"

                  No, its a 2.7 petrol...

                  "2.4 diesel?"

                  No, 2.7 petrol...

                  "........... petrol??"

                  Yessss....

                  "2.4?"

                  .....(!&^$&))%$%$"!!!

                  We got there eventually!

I managed to get through a whole tank of fuel at the weekends little outing it turns out the V8 is not so good on fuel when offroading! not sure on the milage we covered but i would of thought the whole trip well under 150miles

Just keep thinking of that great exhaust note and keep throwing petrol in the tank mate .

Ohh, thats enough to make anybody wince. How many normal road miles do you get out of a tank ?

Understandable really as you're only using a couple of gears and not cruising in T/C lock-up.

Add to that the weight of the truck and the big tyres pushing mud and water out of the way.........

Assuming you have a 60 litre tank Ross, thats over 11mpg.

I used to be able to get single figures with the GT-Four if I pushed it hard

Think of it in 'hours per gallon' rather than miles and it doesn't seem so bad

Its fine on normal driving just off road it does tend to guzzle the juce but i was giving it a good thrashing at least one mile was covered just spinning the wheels in the mud!!

i think it was a good 10 - 11 hour trip so not to bad considering the engine was runing for most of that!
