  • noob in hastings, biodiesel anyone?

    Hi All ,

    I have noticed that there are quite a few Hastings based surfers. Just picked mine up last week so that I can be in the gang...

    Two questions to start with;

    Is there anyone selling biodiesel nearer than Rye?

    If not would anyone be interested in going shares on a cheap processor so we could make our own. This being Hastings it cant be that tough to source wvo, can it?

    Obviously didn't buy my surf for economy but it would be good to source some cheaper fuel.

    cheers

    Hi and welcome mate , afraid I haven't a clue on the Bio front, I just stick a load of diesel in it and go , like you I didn't buy it for the economy but I was pleasantly surprised by it's MPG compared to my last vehicle. There's always LPG, I know the BP garage does that on the Ridge but don't know what the conversion costs though.

    There are a few members in and around Hastings that may a better idea on the subject.

    And before Bushy gets in there, you could always put a V8 in it like I'm considering on mine .

          LPG will only work on a petrol engine. Get thee to Costco..

                Unfortunately that's one of the down sides with Bio, ya could be asking for trouble (if it's a bad batch)
                I'm dubious about it any how ... can't go wrong with KTC as Wez says stick to what ya know works ... unless ya 100% sure ....

                  I'm on the west hill if that makes me easier to spot....

                  Where do you get your svo, and how much is it?

                  I'm off to france at the weekend and going to check out svo prices there, when I'm back am thinking about starting some basic wvo filtration etc.

                  Mainly because my beastie is only getting about 18mpg on a run and an eye watering 14 round town, even tho I drive like and old man in a hat!

                  Does that mean mine might be a wine red mica one? How disappointing, I only bought it cos it was burgundiddy...
